Under the auspices of IFLA Center for Arabic Speaking Libraries (IFLA-CASL), and Naseej, a Scholarship to attend the IFLA Conference 2012, to be held in Finland
Riyadh, KSA, In line with its efforts in supporting communication and interaction between Arab librarians and international experts in the field of information and library sciences, Naseej (Arabian Advanced Systems), the leading knowledge management solutions provider in the Middle East, has announced its cooperation with IFLA Center for Arabic Speaking Libraries (IFLA-CASL) in awarding a scholarship to attend the IFLA Conference 2012, to be held in Helsinki, Finland, August 11–17. The conference is the world's biggest professional conference in the field of information and libraries.
The Vice President of Naseej, Eng. Abdullah Al-Turaifi, announced: "IFLA's annual conference presents a great opportunity for information specialists to get together in order to update their knowledge, develop their skills and strengthen their existing ties. Furthermore, it facilitates communication with other outside information units and the establishment of new projects and services. In sponsoring this scholarship, Naseej reconfirms its adherence to socially responsible undertakings through executing its vision of spreading knowledge and developing competencies and local human resources in the field of information and libraries."
Director of the IFLA Center for Arabic Speaking Libraries (IFLA-CASL), Dina Youssef, commented: "IFLA's annual conference is one of the biggest international conferences in the field of information and libraries, with approximately 3,000–4,000 librarians and information experts from all over the globe participating. The conference agenda covers an extensive assortment of sessions on best professional practices, the latest technical achievements, and presentations on an outstanding collection of research papers and case studies."
In awarding the scholarship, priority will be given to presenters of scientific research who are playing a positive role in the conference. The winner will be chosen by a neutral committee formed by Naseej and IFLA-CASL.
