Saudi Digital Library and IGI Global Renewed Partnership

IGI Global, an international publisher of progressive academic research, is pleased to announce a renewed partnership with the Saudi Digital Library (SDL) Consortium for the coming year for IGI Global’s InfoSci®-Books and InfoSci®-Journals database collections.

This partnership provides members of the Saudi Digital Library access to more than 150 journals within the InfoSci®-Journals collection, many of which are cited in over 75 different prestigious indices, with some of the more prominent being: Thomson Reuters, Scopus, Compendex, PsycINFO, INSPEC, and Cabell’s Directories.  Saudi Digital Library members now also have full access to InfoSci®-Books, IGI Global’s rapidly expanding collection of more than 2,600 reference books. The InfoSci®-Books collection also includes IGI Global’s major reference works – such as one and two volume handbooks of research, encyclopedias, and multivolume titles.

Saudi Digital Library (SDL) is the largest academic gathering of information sources in the Arab world, with more than 310,000 scientific reference – covering all academic disciplines – and the continuous updating of the content, thus achieving accumulative knowledge in the long run. SDL has contracted with more than 300 global publishers. The library won the award for the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information ‘AFLI’ for outstanding projects in the Arab world in 2010.

The library provides to all Saudi universities one umbrella through which to negotiate with publishers on various legal and financial issues and, in this significant savings of money and effort, one umbrella through which institutions can get more benefits and rights to publishers.
