In collaboration with the Saudi Digital Library (SDL), Naseej organized the 2nd Scientific Forum on “The Scientific Publishing Mechanism of IET”, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at SDL’s headquarter in Riyadh. The Forum functions within the frame of cooperation between the Saudi Digital Library (SDL) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
The Forum featured the participation of deans of colleges of engineering and scientific research, faculty staff, postgraduate students of engineering and technology, as well as specialists in the field. The Forum is designed to update participants on key factors in article publishing in a conference or a journal and their related particulars. The Forum also briefed attendees on the working mechanism used by the editorial board, optimizing market research and its effectiveness. Moreover, the Forum presented Article Processing Charges (APC) & Open Access Journals, the Journal Impact Factor and the IET’s conference proceedings content. The Forum highlighted the principles and ethics of scientific publishing and research, as well.
The Forum hosted keynote speakers, including Ms. Rona Vokmuravk Director of Publishing at IET and Mr. Richard Siems, Director of Development and Training who shared their insights and experiences with the audience.
On his part, Eng. Abdullah Al Turaifi, Naseej vice president, stressed the importance of such forums and their impact on raising information awareness, spreading research knowledge in the digital age, as well as highlighting key topics for researchers, including copyrights, and scientific publishing mechanism in peer-reviewed journals. Eng. Al Turaifi also expressed his deep appreciation of the strong relation between Naseej and SDL, stating that “Saudi Arabiya’ s 2030 Vision calls on increasing joint efforts to speed up spreading knowledge among the society.”
