Saudi National eLearning Center Chooses Naseej to Develop Short University Programs to Accelerate Lifelong Learning

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – October 2024

Naseej for Technology, a leading provider of digital transformation solutions for higher education and knowledge centers, has announced the launch of Phase II of its collaboration with the National eLearning Center (NELC). This initiative will develop 40 short university programs in partnership with Saudi universities and global platforms. The programs aim to equip learners with essential skills and competencies in key sectors, including mining, entertainment, financial services, and healthcare.

These programs play a pivotal role in Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to align education with the evolving labor market needs, forming a key pillar of the Human Capability Development Program under Vision 2030. By offering short, intensive courses, the programs allow learners to quickly upskill or reskill, empowering them to meet the changing demands of today’s fast-paced workforce.

“We are proud to collaborate with the National eLearning Center (NELC) on this innovative initiative that not only empowers learners but also redefines how education is delivered,” said Mr. Othman Al-Abdulkarim, CEO of Naseej. “These short university programs are designed to be accessible, flexible, and closely aligned with labor market needs, providing a dynamic alternative to traditional long-term academic pathways. By emphasizing technical and soft skills, our competency-based programs equip individuals with the essential cognitive and behavioral skills needed for immediate integration into high-demand industries while promoting lifelong learning in an efficient, time-saving format.”

The project’s second phase focuses on developing 40 programs meticulously designed to integrate cognitive knowledge with behavioral competencies. Each program is structured to deliver focused learning experiences, enabling students to acquire essential expertise in specific disciplines within a condensed timeframe. These programs target key sectors such as mining, entertainment, financial services, and healthcare – industries that are crucial to Saudi Arabia’s economic growth and development.

Strategic Benefits: Paving the Way for a Dynamic Workforce

The emergence of short university programs marks a significant shift in how higher education institutions address the needs of the modern workforce. By delivering focused, outcome-oriented education, these programs offer learners valuable certifications in a fraction of the time required for traditional degrees. Additionally, these micro-credentials provide greater flexibility, enabling students to remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic global job market.

As a leader in innovative digital solutions, Naseej is uniquely positioned to support organizations in their digital transformation efforts. With extensive expertise in educational technology, Naseej ensures that these short university programs are both accessible and aligned with national priorities for human capital development. This strategic alignment is crucial in enhancing employability and addressing national workforce needs.

Naseej’s partnership with NELC further highlights its dedication to driving innovation in higher education by harnessing digital tools to create transformative learning experiences. The programs are developed in strict adherence to the program development guidelines, guaranteeing the highest quality standards while meeting the diverse needs of learners across multiple sectors.
