Al-Ain City, United Arab Emirates – March 2026
Naseej, the region’s leading provider of knowledge and digital transformation solutions, has successfully completed a comprehensive shelving services project at the library of United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). The initiative supports the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its academic and research environment.
As the UAE’s first and foremost comprehensive national university, UAEU aspires to leadership and innovation in higher education, research, and community service at national and international levels. In support of this direction, Naseej reorganized 65,000 library items according to the Library of Congress Classification (LCC), ensuring full alignment with the library’s newly implemented U-shaped shelving design.
Delivered by an on-site team of 12 specialized service professionals, the project followed a structured plan based on the best international practices in collection management. This approach ensured accurate, sequential redistribution of materials, preserving classification integrity while aligning the physical arrangement with the updated layout.
By synchronizing collection order with the new shelving configuration, the initiative improves internal movement, enhances retrieval efficiency, and provides a clearer experience for librarians and users. The result is a more intuitive pathway to subject areas and a stronger operational workflow throughout the library.
For a research-intensive institution such as UAEU, a well-structured physical organization is essential to knowledge accessibility and academic productivity. This project reinforces the library’s role in enabling research activity and supporting the development of competitive capabilities aligned with the university’s mission to build a sustainable educational and research future for the UAE.
With over three decades of experience supporting academic and knowledge institutions across the region, Naseej continues to deliver structured, standards-based services that strengthen institutional infrastructure and operational performance. The successful completion of the UAEU shelving project reaffirms Naseej’s commitment to enabling universities to maintain organized, efficient, and future-ready knowledge environments.
