USEK university opened today, in collaboration withNaseej, its “eZone Library.” The facility is planned to operate as the library s common area, with a comfortable reading area/lounge, PC stations, access to research databases, availability of popular magazines, social web linking, board games, research assistance and an IT help desk.
The USEK eZone Library adds another cutting-edge dimension to the eLibrary services USEK currently offers online. Among the events held to coincide with the opening was a contest organized and sponsored by Naseej, entitled “eZONE: YOUR SPACE IN THE DIGITAL WORLD.” The contest prize, an iPad2, was awarded to the USEK student with the highest number of log-ins registered on the eZone Computer Stations.
Commenting on the partnership between USEK and Naseej, Randa Al Chidiac, USEK Executive Director, said: “Whenever we in Lebanon think of libraries, we think of Naseej, the region’s leading supplier ofknowledge solutions and services for more than 24 years. Naseej is therefore our first choice at USEK, where our library is undergoing many changes and improvements. I would hope that USEK and Naseej will have a prosperous future together. We have already started to discuss converting our data and cleaning our records, among other matters”.
