Naseej concluded its successful participation in the 27th Annual Conference of the Specialized Libraries Association – Arabian Gulf Chapter held in Doha, Qatar, from March 5 to 7, 2024. The conference witnessed a remarkable presence from Naseej, attracting a multitude of attendees and participants throughout the event.
During the conference’s opening day, Mr. Ahmad Abdulsalam, from Naseej, delivered a captivating speech highlighting Medad’s innovative identity and its advanced application of Artificial Intelligence in cataloguing. Additionally, Mr. Abdulsalam announced the launch of “Medad Insights“, inviting libraries to adopt the beta version of the platform, and emphasized the importance of actively contributing to its development through experimentation and feedback.
Additionally, Dr. Andrew Cox, Senior Lecturer at the Information School, University of Sheffield, led a session during the pre-conference workshop organized by Naseej Academy on “Artificial Intelligence and Libraries: Choosing the Best Strategy for Your Library“. The workshop brought together a distinguished group of academics, library and information specialists, and library directors from the Arab world, who engaged in discussions about the role of libraries in smart cities and expressed their interest to attend similar future events.
